Vendée Globe
Helping hands in Cape Town to get home for Christmas
Every four years thirty yachts set sail From France for the Vendée Globe; the solo, unassisted, non-stop around the world yacht race. This 75 day endurance race tests both boat man and machine in a relentless track through the smouldering hot tropics and furious Southern Ocean.
One of the unfortunate skippers that had to retire was Sébastien Simon after hitting an unidentified floating object. He managed to get the yacht safely to Cape Town, but was unable to sail the yacht safely further or home.
Being an office full of sailors, we felt Sébastien’s disappointment and quickly put a complete solution in place to get the yacht home to France. Today we are happy to be able to share the news with you that, through swift action by many helping hands and by using our established world wide network of suppliers, we have been able to load the yacht safely onto a cargo vessel, so the skipper and his support crew can fly home in time for Christmas.
