Showcasing the best of yachting at Phuket Yacht Haven Marina
The Thailand International Boat Show 2025 at Phuket Yacht Haven Marina was a vibrant showcase of the yachting industry, bringing together marine enthusiasts, industry professionals, and key government figures. With over 6,000 visitors expected, the show has become a cornerstone of Thailand’s marine calendar. This year’s event, held from January 9-12, was especially notable for its official opening by the Prime Minister of Thailand, Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra. Dignitaries and distinguished guests from central and local government also attended the show.
A local show with global impact
It was great to see the Phuket yachting industry come together at the Thailand International Boat Show after several years. The presence of high-ranking officials at the event signals growing recognition of the economic and cultural value that yachting brings to Thailand.
The Prime Minister’s attendance was a remarkable achievement for the organizers and the yachting community. It highlights the administration’s understanding of how yachting and super yachting can contribute to Thailand through job creation, high-end tourism, and showcasing the country’s beauty and culture to a global audience.
Delivering yachts on a tight schedule
Sevenstar Yacht Transport played a vital role in the success of this year’s show by ensuring several yachts arrived in time for the event. Charles Massey and Chris Jongerius attended the show, strengthening relationships with local clients and showcasing Sevenstar’s dedication to the Thai market. “A local show means you meet familiar faces multiple times over the four days,” Chris said. “It’s a great way to connect with clients and the local yachting community.”
One of the standout stories was the Prestige X60, which was shipped from Hong Kong to Phuket under a very tight schedule. “It required precise timing and significant effort,” Charles shared. “But we made it happen, and the yacht was a highlight of the show.”
In addition to the X60, several other yachts were shown at the event while waiting for transport to Europe: a Fleming 85 motor yacht, a new MC 55 catamaran and a classic 40-meter sailing yacht built in 1894. “It’s always rewarding to see yachts we’ve transported showcased at events like this,” Chris added. “It reflects the trust clients place in us to deliver, even under challenging circumstances.”
