Lady sevenstar sailing team
We hereby proudly present to you our Thai Lady Sevenstar Sailing Team.
After their first try-out, a succesful participation in the Bay Regatta, Lady Sevenstar aims to get two women's Firefly teams into the regular ACYC yacht races starting in March and the next regatta, the Cape Panwa Hotel Phuket Race Week in July.
“From the very first moment we had the idea to join the regatta with an all women's team, everything came together smoothly and almost effortlessly,” says initiator Marieke Derks, marketing representative of Sevenstar Yacht Transport. “Everyone I asked said “yes” without hesitation.
Chris Jongerius, Sevenstar agent in Thailand, pledged one of his Firefly 850 Sports cats, the crew was quickly found amongst old and new friends, Brian Calvert promised his motor yacht Furthur, a Selene 482, as support boat, Karine le Pajolec signed on as photographer, Aqua Lung supplied racing shirts; it all fell into place. We learned so much in the regatta and the practice sails we had beforehand, it is proof creating a constructive, positive atmosphere is the way to go.”
sevenstar fights against cancer in alpe d'huzes
The fight against cancer should not be dictated by money but unfortunately this is the reality of todays world. The only way to cure cancer is by research, and this costs a lot of money. Alpe d'HuZes wants to raise funds to fight cancer by cycling up the Alpe d'Huez in France six times in one day. The name, Alpe d'Huzes, is a combination of the Dutch word for "six" and the name of the mountain.
Team Sevenstar, consisting 8 riders all working for Sevenstar/Spliethoff, will try to raise as much money as they can to support this fight against cancer. You will understand that every donation you can do will help. We are very much looking forward to you generous gifts!
Thank you very much for your support!
